Hasli blows it

HASLI Izwan Amir Hasan has another round to shoot in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol today but his campaign is as good as over after scoring only 279 points yesterday.

Hasli Izwan will be competing in the 25m rapid fire pistol today.

Even worse, even a perfect score of 300 today won't be enough to better the national record he set in the 2006 Asian Championships in Kuwait.

En route to winning silver in the Asian Championships, Hasli scored 581 for a silver and earned an automatic spot in the Olympics, the first for a Malaysian shooter.

But he disappointed himself yesterday and could only look in awe as the world's best showed him how it is done.

Russian Leonid Ekimov leads with 291 while Ukraine's Oleksandr Petriv, America's Keith Sanderson and Germany's Christian Reitz are all tied for second with 289.
