Chii Lin fails in her record bid

SWIMMER Leung Chii Lin failed to set a new personal best in the women’s 50m freestyle at the National Aquatics Centre last night.

The Sabah-born swimmer, making her Olympic debut, clocked 26.75 to finish sixth in Heat 8.

Chii Lin, who set the national record of 26.18 in the Malaysian Open in May, was placed 48th overall in the field of 90 swimmers.
