IN line with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Astro will provide subscribers with a comprehensive “live” coverage of the event on 11 interactive channels (between channels 816 and 826) beginning Sunday till Aug 26.
Subscribers of the sports package will be able to view the 11 channels without having to pay additional fees.
Channel 318 will be available to subscribers of the sports and Dynasty packages.
“We will provide more than 3,000 hours of coverage of the Olympic Games. Sports fans will be able to enjoy action-packed and real-time updates on the games, direct from Beijing,” said Astro’s chief executive officer, Rohana Rozhan at the launching ceremony of Astro’s Olympics offerings recently.
Astro is also the sponsor of the Malaysian Olympics team.
Present at the Press conference were National Sports Council director general Datuk Dr Zolkples Embong, president of the Olympic Council of Malaysia Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja’afar and the Malaysian Olympic team.
Astro Sports subscribers can tune in to Astro SuperSport (Channel 826) for news updates, statistics on the event as well as interactive applications.
To view your favourite sports event, just select the appropriate mini screen and press ‘OK’ on the remote control.
