OLYMPICS: Malaysia 63rd In 2012 Olympics Medal Tally

LONDON, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- With just a silver and a bronze, Malaysia finished 63rd out of 85 countries in the medal tally at the 2012 Olympic Games here.

Malaysia shared the position with Bulgaria, Estonia, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and Taiwan.

Badminton ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei bagged a silver when he went down gallantly to Lin Dan of China in men's singles while Pandelela Rinong Anak Pamg overcame the odds to clinch a bronze in the women's 10m platform diving event.

Thailand surged ahead of other Asean countries to finish in the 57th place with two silvers and a bronze followed by Indonesia (63rd), Malaysia (63rd) and Singapore (75th).

Anyway, Malaysia moved one notch from the 70th position in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, during which they collected only a silver through Chong Wei.
